What's interesting
about this concert...
-
The Overture to Carmen is infused with Spanish musical elements, the famous "Habanera" melody, and the "Toreador Song", which reflects the opera's setting in Spain.

-
Rodrigo often drew inspiration from his Mediterranean and Spanish surroundings. Concierto Madrigal is no exception, as it incorporates Spanish folk elements and rhythms with Renaissance music of the 16th century.

-
Though Russian, Rimsky-Korsakov's use of orchestration in Capriccio Espagnol creates a vivid portrayal of the Spanish soundscape and festive celebrations.

-
Danza ritual del fuego is frequently performed in concert halls around the world. Its engaging rhythm, evocative melodies, and dramatic contrasts make it a crowd-pleaser that leaves a lasting impact on audiences!
